Monday Mystery

We found this strange natural object wash up during low tide the other day, and it was something we had never come across before. After a few days of research, we are fairly sure we know what it is. Instead of just telling you, we thought we’d give you a chance to crack this mystery for yourself. What is the natural object in the picture?

Here are a few clues:

* The item looks and feels like thick jelly.

* It is usually found on the ocean floor but came ashore due to a storm at sea.

* If you look at the close-up below, you may notice it is made up of many smaller parts.

To sweeten the deal, we have a win-win prize. We are cleaning out our CD collection, so the first person to leave a comment with the correct answer will receive a mystery CD.  Just think: you may not only learn something new, but you may also get to hear something new as well.

Good luck, and we’ll post the correct answer in the next few days.
