What an amazing time of year to be visiting Yellowstone National Park! The sun is shinning, the sky is a brilliant blue and the crowds are non-existent. Yesterday morning we headed up the road to Mammoth Hot Springs ready to spend our first day exploring the park. Boy were we surprised when we discovered that it was pretty much just us and the elk. The kids had a ball running up and down the boardwalk marveling at the steaming waters and billowing gases. We had a very “hands-on” home school lesson in geothermal activity while the elk went about their morning business. What a way to start the day!
